This session will explore how global conflict impacts young people locally and globally, and the value in adopting a humanitarian approach. We will discuss the challenges of maintaining impartiality and navigating our own views while supporting young people. We will address media influences, mental health concerns, and strategies for ensuring safety and wellbeing for both young people and practitioners. We will be joined by Olivia Young, Community Education Coordinator for The British Red Cross. An educator for over a decade, Olivia taught English Language and Literature at a secondary school in Leeds. She was also the Media Studies Head of Department for five years.
